Twombly emerged in the 1950s and pursued his own independent endeavors, distancing himself from the Abstract Expressionism movement that emerged in the United States in the late 1940s. His abstract paintings, painted with a distinctive touch, have garnered support from around the world, and he is one of the most popular artists in Japan. This book is a catalogue published in conjunction with a solo exhibition held in Belgium in 2012, and mainly features photographs taken by the artist during his lifetime.
